There are tons of such sites/companies that will issue a travel insurance & will issue a letter with all the wordings mentioned by the consulate. You are possibly looking at abt $50-60 bucks depending on your coverage (lowest specified by consulate ) & length of stay (15 days)
You can ask Humana to issue you a letter stating to coverage amount that you will be covered while on your visit to Sweden. When I was traveling to Italy, my insurance company did issue me such a letter & I didn't have to buy anything.

There will be no movement for EB2I without spill over. It seems this year is the key as the spillover expected is much more than the previous years (based on the pending application numbers). 10K from last year's family based leftover numbers should also go to EB2 I and EB2 C.
Any guidance when the FB numbers will be utilized or will they also be utilized in the last quarter. These are sufficient to clean out the EB2 I & C 2005 backlog.

hahaha! lost this was by accident too! see i had to do an interview for a school so i was all dressed up, so i posed like a weather man for a pic....so i went to Weather.com and got a local map that i was going to use to put behind me. well the extract tool didnt do exactly what i wanted cause i had never used it, so i did it like a quick mask. so in the end of the filter it ended up making it like all 'rough' on the edges. so i brought the map in....scaled it to size on the screen (i sized it to the whole screen. oh by the way, after i imported the pic onto the new doc.,i difference clouded it).so after all that i put difference clouds on the map too. i changed the layer blend to color blend and vola. it looks cool w/burn too. i have been playing around ALOT w/it. i think it is a big step for me! :beam:

yes, now we should all start calling uscis - atleast 10 times a day, open SRs, take 4-5 infopass appointments and maybe consider going to NSC or TSC in person to see if we can talk to the IO (or have a cup of tea with the IO) to expedite our respective cases.
Who knows, if we do such things, we mite get our GCs faster than ppl already waiting ahead of us in the queue. :)

Looks like the PERMANENT SOLUTION was to allow all applicants to apply for AOS....but it's losing ground, it seems...
Looks like July 485 applications will be accepted soon....from the looks of it USCIS is admitting it's mistakes...

I have been reporting on plans for USCIS to make a major announcement today or Monday regarding fixing the mess created by USCIS' not quite valid claim to have fully processed all remaining cases for the fiscal year.
Apparently, there are multiple camps arguing for different solutions, according to more than one of my sources with at least one side arguing for providing interim work and travel benefits without a visa number being available (the "permanent" solution), another arguing for only accepting adjustment applications for July and other possibilities as well. The "permanent" solution camp has apparently lost some ground since yesterday.
An announcement today is still possible which might make sense given the holding up of publishing of the Visa Bulletin and the deadline imposed by Congresswoman Lofgren. But obviously USCIS has to decide what it wants to do, check the legality, then draft and release a press statement.
I'll update you as I learn more.

is there anyway USCIS would find out that this person changed jobs within 180 days of 485 filing when he or she applies for H1 transfer? and then that could result in 485 denial?

I am currently on H1-B (valid till 2010) and recently applied for PERM LC. I work for a non-profit organization and the category is EB-2. Nationality: Turkey.
I was planning to go for my GC but my plans have recently changed. I am planning to get married in 2009 Summer (earlier is not possible). I have done my research and found out that if I receive my GC before I get married, it will be very difficult to get my spouse here.
I am expecting to get the LC in about 4 months. Then, most probably I can file I-140 and I-485 concurrently as the visa numbers will be available for my case. However, I am not planning to do it anymore due to the reasons mentioned above.
So, here are my questions:
Now, the new rule tells that LC certification must be used within 180 days. So, can I just file I-140 while single and even though my visa numbers are current for I-485 (Can I seperate I-140 and I-485 and save I-1485 for after marriage - Summer 2009). Apply I-485 as soon as you are eligible to apply you never know when they change the rules, getting your wife here is in future, she can always educate herself and come to US on H-1 or any other visa just to accompany you, this is just a suggestion decision is yours.

My wife's EAD just got approved. Now I have to get her a SSN so she can start working part time. Firstly I should ask can she get a SSN provided her I-485 application is filed and she has a valid EAD ? Any idea how long it takes to get the dang SSN ? I appreciate your help as always.

you can also put links on an image in dreamweaver with image maps.
it's very easy. Just bring the image (or images if you have cut it up) into dreamweaver. Click on the image and in your Properties Pannel you will notice a bunch of options for drawing. Choose the square or the circle or whatever shape you want to make and just draw ontop of your image. This will be an active Hyperlink and will not ad and colours or outlines to your pic.

According to my experience it doesnt make a difference whom you contact. I would suggest contact all (both senators of your state and local congressperson). It has no negative bearing on your case. I would also suggest
that you contact the ombudsman. You never know whats going to click in the end.

Here is my story, Immigration experts are requested to suggest.......

EAD extension is solely based on Pending 485, so you should'nt have any problem.
Since you started working on EAD invoking AC21 i don't think you are on H1 status anymore.

My friend has this scenario and want expert advise from IV members.
- On L1 for 3 1/2 years and H1 for 2 years 3 months. About to complete 6
years in 3 months.
- Filed Labor (approved. PD Aug 2004 EB3), I140 (applied in May 2007) and
I485 (July fiasco)
- I140 still pending
Question:
1. Does L1 period is counted for H1 extention?
2. Can he do H1 transfer using AC21 without I140 approval?
As 6 years are going to be expired?
3. What if the old employer revokes his I140 now? His GC process is invalid?

I am planning to file my 7th year extension and would appreciate some one who can provide some guidance. I have a pending I-485 (July 2007 filer).
My six year visa expires in Sep 07, 2009
a) How much in advance we can submit HIB petition. I read some where H1B can be applied six month in advance.
b) If we apply six month in advance, can those dates be from Sep 08, 2009 or the date of submission.
c) Can we include the dates for some one is physically not present in US
d) What supporting documents are needed to prove that some one was not present in US?

b.) as far as I know, it doesn't matter. what is important is you should get your extension filed before Sep 07, 2009 (should be with USCIS on hand). so basically by now Mar. 09, you can start filing for your extension.

H1-B extension = yes you can, either your second 3 year extension (total of 6) or the yearly extension after the 6th year until you get your GC.
IMHO, better to go both H1 extension AND EAD but not necessary UNLESS you want to change employer. if you want to change employer then EAD is a MUST because your H1 is based from your current employer. on the other hand, if you are staying on your current employer and no plans on getting out then H1B-Extension is good enough.
The reason why it is safer to have both H1-Extension and EAD is that, just in case for some reason your current employer fires you or something goes wrong with the company, you have a safe haven on an EAD because you can work (same occupation of your H1) legally and need not worry of your status.
