So you're assuming that Apple are merging both stores into 1 and that developers have had time to implement universal binaries that run on 2 different frameworks and submitted the result to the app store ?
This is obviously a bug, but it's not what you think it is. ;)
Well, as i said i'm not really into apple products, but i guess apple would instead develop an emulator if something like that were to happen...
Maybe it's a point and click remote thing for apple tv...

So wait, not to go off-topic, but let me get this straight: Josh quit Engadget to start another tech blog? FFS, like we don't have enough of those already.
No, he and like 7 others left Engadget because they didn't like how (AOL, owner) were trying to make them push content on the website. They are forming a new site with SBNation that will launch this fall. You can tell who the real talent was, as Josh got the break on this story and Engadget did not.

I agree. My friend has an HTC with Sense and I love it compared to my slow Samsung TouchWiz interface. It's gotten better with Froyo but still very sluggish.
As soon as Apple fixes the damn notification system and...preferably gives us some kind of option of customization of a home screen or something (just so its not just a bunch of useless icons), I will switch back to the iPhone. I kind of miss my 3GS.
That's my main concern with the next iPhone and iOS. Android has really evolved and come along way since its first iterations whereas iOS has started to become a tad bit stale, even with jailbreaking.

I expected your post to be something along this view ... can you source the fact he has little or nothing to do with Al-Queda?
He's just re-stating the obvious.
Al Quaeda isn't a tighly led organisation. It's a movement. Loosing a leader is of little concequence.
USA Today analysis from a few years back (http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2009-06-07-al-qaeda_N.htm).

Well, I'll hop on the bandwagon. My measly old MBP should be able to cope with it. I'll get my PS3 onto the game as well, just to see how much I can get out of it.
(far out you guys are well equipped)
Great to have you aboard! Every machine we can get helps. PS3's are great folding machines.

Josh tweeted
I was among those that thought it was ugly, and that was an actual leaked device.
Save your breath for something a little more detailed than a mockup based on some guy's sketch.
Lol, I knew that he's lurking these boards. Very funny to even contemplate people saying the iPhone 4 was ugly, it's perhaps the most aesthectically pleasing electronic product that has ever been released to this date.

Not exactly...
They saw the iPhone in January, then rushed to change their ui design. it hows in their crapy look.
Have we seen this take place recently with another samsug product?

I mean, if you want to differentiate your higher end products from the lower end ones, you ADD features to the higher end one. You DON'T remove features that were once standard for years on the lower end machine.
I've seen this in Yamaha keyboards - once upon a time all keyboards had MIDI IN/OUT/THROU, later (ca 2004 onwards) Yamaha removed this pretty basic feature from their low and mid-end keyboards so that they could not be used as controllers. The customers had to end up buying pretty expensive equipment in order to use MIDI connections.

It's also likely to lead to a Douglas Adams-esque end-of-the-world pandemic scenario! Euuuh!
As DNA prophesied:
"A loud clatter of gunk music flooded through the Heart of Gold cabin as
Zaphod searched the sub-etha radio wavebands for news of himself. The machine was rather difficult to operate. For years radios had been operated by means of pressing buttons and turning dials; then as the technology became more sophisticated the controls were made touch-sensitive you merely had to brush the panels with your fingers; now all you had to do was wave your hand in the general direction of the components and hope. It saved a lot of muscular expenditure of course, but meant that you had to sit infuriatingly still if you wanted to keep listening to the same programme.
[...]
The music swirled and dived for a moment. Another voice broke in, presumably Halfrunt. He said: Vel l, Zaphods jist zis guy you know? but got no further because an electric pencil flew across the cabin and through the radios on/off sensitive airspace. Zaphod turned and glared at Trillian she had thrown the pencil."

aswitcher, could you explain a bit more to me what you mean by
"802.11n pending firmware upgrade..." since you're the first to mention this at all? Does anyone know if this new MBP will have 802.11n at all (for the iTV)?
The last round of iMacs are supposed to have new airport extremes that can be firmware upgraded to 802.11N. This is based upon a finding whilst using bootcamp and windowsXP/Vista(?). With Apples special TV thingy coming out next year (Steve Jobs announced at WWDC) all Macs really need wireless faster than G so it makes sense to upgrade them all to "n". So I strongly suspect the latest macbok pros have it - and it will be enabled next year.

Would you be willing to sell it? Since you would have to wait in line to exchange anyways?
I have a friend that is REALLY looking for a 32 gig white one. He leaves back to Arizona in a couple days, it would mean a lot if you considered it.
I just posted this so if no one has a trade for me I may do it.
Check with me later

Bowers & Wilkins MM-1 Computer Speakers
I can't really recommend those B&W MM-1 Speakers. My wife uses them (see setup threat somewhere) and the sound really is quite a bummer. The design is awesome though. but for 500 eu or 700 dollars, I really feel it's a NO GO
The Harman Kardon Soundsticks II that I use produce a much better sound at a much better price.
But h, that's me

I tend to ignore my family/co-workers when I talk about this stuff. The Apple bias there is quite evident and I don't expect anything other than Apple stuff there. I wouldn't draw conclusions on Mac market share from them either as it would put the Mac on top of Windows by a huge margin. ;)
I try to be honest with myself because if I looked at them, I would draw the same conclusions you and many others are here and just say Apple is leading by a huge margin, which just isn't the case. I don't have enough attachement to Apple as a vendor to go around cheerleading for them.
Haha, if I used my family as a Mac market share indicator then Apple would have sold one Mac...to me.
Yeah that's why I was curious if there was data to support your statement that all of the carriers here are selling tons. I honestly have no idea who's in the lead up here, but based on my observations it'd be iPhone and based on yours it's Android. If they'd release some damned info, eh?

Same thing apple always does function not features.
LTE is a pretty fantastic function. Using 4G on my friend's Thunderbolt feels the same as using WiFi. The battery life is unacceptable though.
If Apple can't get LTE working in time for the iPhone 5 (not really in their hands), I seriously hope to see HSPA+ as a stop-gap.

First of all, I think this should have been released at most a couple months after the introduction of the Mighty Mouse. Taking a year to give it BT capabilities is ridiculous.
And $70 for a ****ing mouse is absurd. Doesn't look like I'll be buying anymore mice from apple.
I payed more than that for my Apple BT mouse a few days ago:mad:  :(
